What Is Constant Power Mode? (And Why It Matters)

Unlike standard constant-current drivers that lock you to a single current value, Constant Power Mode means the driver automatically adjusts its output to maintain rated power across a wide voltage range:

Potentiometer Adjustment: How It Works

Unlike DALI or 0-10V drivers that need external control gear, the XLG-A series has a small potentiometer dial on the driver housing, accessed by removing a rubber sealing plug:

1. Power off the driver and allow capacitors to discharge.
2. Remove the rubber sealing plug to access the adjustment screw.
3. XLG-50-A: Use a small flat-head screwdriver to adjust output current. Clockwise = increase current (up to 2.1A). Counter-clockwise = decrease (down to 0.53A).
4. XLG-320-V-A: Turn the potentiometer to select output voltage. Default = 24V. Clockwise to the end = 12V output.
5. Power on and measure with a multimeter. Repeat until target value is reached.
6. Replace the rubber sealing plug firmly to maintain IP67 rating.

⚠️ Critical: Never leave the potentiometer access open in outdoor installations. The rubber plug is part of the IP67 seal. Losing it voids dust/water protection and the warranty. Never operate the driver without the plug fully seated.

Installation Overview

1. Calculate load: Sum all LED wattage. Multiply by 1.15. Select 50W or 315W.
2. Mount: Install in ventilated outdoor enclosure using built-in chassis mount ears. Maintain 50mm clearance for airflow.
3. AC input: Wire L, N, PE to terminal block. Use 1.5mm² cable (<10m) or 2.5mm² (>10m).
4. DC output: Wire V+ and V- to LEDs. Use terminal block for parallel fixtures.
5. Adjust: Power on. Use multimeter to verify output. Adjust potentiometer if needed.
6. Seal: Confirm rubber plug is fully seated. Close junction box.
