How to Choose: Constant Voltage vs. Constant Current
- Constant Current (CC): Required for high-power COB LEDs, street lights, and series-connected fixtures. Prevents thermal runaway.
- Constant Voltage (CV): Required for LED strips, channel letters, and parallel modules. Standard voltages: 12V, 24V, 48V, 54V.
- Constant Power (XLG only): Maintains wattage across a wide current range. One SKU covers multiple fixture configurations.
UAE Climate Checklist
Before selecting any driver for a Dubai or Abu Dhabi project, verify:
- Case temperature rating: Must be +85°C minimum. XLG and HLG handle +90°C.
- IP rating: Outdoor = IP67 minimum. Indoor only = IP20 acceptable.
- Surge protection: IEC61000-4-5, 4kV minimum. XLG/HLG offer 6kV standard.
- Input voltage: 90~305VAC covers UAE grid without manual switching.
